Aalborg University (AAU) is a fairly young and very modern university established in 1974. Situated in Denmark, the University’s main campus is placed in Aalborg, but it also has a campus in Esbjerg and one in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
The University offers high quality education with more than 60 programmes taught in English within the fields of natural sciences, engineering, health sciences. social sciences and humanities.
The University has a strong focus on innovation and creativity, which is especially visible in Aalborg University’s well-reputed study method problem based learning or the Aalborg Model, which has been shown to be close to optimal for the learning process in an evaluation by the OECD.
Problem based learning entails working project-oriented with real life, field relevant problems in a group of your fellow students. It even gives you with the opportunity to cooperate with a company and provides you with experiences and competencies that are highly valuable for your professional life.
AAU offers you the opportunity to experience Denmark and Scandinavia whilst studying in a highly international environment. Approximately 10 per cent of AAU’s student body of nearly 18,000 are international students. At the same time, you will find that the Danes’ English proficiency level is very high, just as some Danes speak e.g. German, French and Spanish.
